Your path

The Pilot Scheme covers two years and includes work experience in a variety of NHS Communications departments, complemented by a post graduate qualification and a personal development programme. You'll also be supported by a mentor and participate in action learning sets – all designed to ensure you develop the competence and confidence to rise to the challenges of the NHS as an emerging leader.

Your trainee work placements in Communications will be provided by accredited NHS organisations and NHS professional Communications managers.

The Pilot Scheme is designed to stretch and challenge, enthuse and engage fast track learners who have the ability to become future leaders in the NHS. The pilot (modelled on our existing award winning national scheme) prides itself on its "blended learning" approach – structured work placements in parallel with education, development and working towards professional qualifications.

This exciting new scheme will have placement opportunities in the following areas;

  • North East
  • North West
  • East of England
  • South West
  • South East Coast
  • Yorkshire & Humber
